Welcome to the ultimate feast, where diets go to die. Kick things off with a Whale of a Breakfast, the morning feast that laughs in the face of portion control. Dive headfirst into culinary chaos and Build a Burger so big it needs its own structural engineer, then Pile a Plate like you're prepping for a food apocalypse. We’ve also got Toasted Sandwiches that crunch louder than your regrets, Curries that come with their own fire warning, and enough Grub to feed the Springbok rugby squad. Our Seafood is so fresh it almost swims onto your plate, our Loaded Fries are stacked as if calories are a myth, and the Grills are hotter than your ex's new fling. Sip on Cocktails so colourful they qualify as modern art, knock back Shooters that come with bragging rights, and gather your crew for some Sharers.
And just when you think you're done, the Desserts pitch up, ruining your willpower and waistline. Pair it all with a bottle of Wine, and you’ve officially earned a food coma worthy of legend.
Our History
Where it all began
The Thirsty Whale began life back in 2003 as a humble little hamburger stand next to Splash Waterworld. Just burgers, buns, and big dreams. Fast-forward a few fries and a couple of decades later, and it’s now a three-storey skyscraper, complete with a restaurant, sports bar, and cocktail spot where good vibes are always on tap.
We’ve always believed in excellent service, delicious food, and not charging a fortune for it. Add a pinch of hustle, a dash of stubbornness, and a whole lot of heart, and you’ve got a recipe that even COVID couldn’t sink (though it did try, we took a breather, but came back bigger and thirstier than ever).

Splash Waterworld is making waves on Toti Main Beach, conveniently positioned next to The Thirsty Whale, because nothing says “adulting” like waterslides followed by cocktails. Pack the kids and towels, and leave your dignity at the gate, because we have slides, splashes, and enough excitement to leave you questioning your life choices. We’ve got rides for the brave, floats for grandma, and tame slides for when you’re pretending to be responsible. It’s wheelchair friendly, and our lifeguards are trained to save lives and keep a straight face while judging your belly flops.
Light up the braai, race your friends down a slide, then stumble next door to The Thirsty Whale for sundowners and recovery snacks.
